999 Any 999 Or 999s Owners In Cheshire?

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by flatairbag, Jun 29, 2016.

  1. Seriously thinking of trading the 998 in for a 999S. (I can hear the gasps of horror already.. well maybe not from this forum category, but don't tell the others :grinning:).

So.. I've sat on a 999 before but not ridden one.. and mostly looking to switch out to stay in the sportsbike family but gain better ergo's... I could be going from the fire to the fry-pan here with this one, but from what ive read the 999 seems to offer greater ergo adjustments, less ass in air, and a feeling of being part of the bike rather than riding on top of it. Most of my riding is on the street... not ready for a ST just yet tho.

Im not far from Warrington in Cheshire, if any 999 owners nearby wouldn't mind me having a looksie and a chat?

  2. Ta for the link @Cream_Revenge
Ive viewed all 4 pages in the thread and did find the 1 useful post within it ... Good ol ducatiforum banter!
Ill re-visit it again in a few months when you have new tyres and suspension on the 999, and note the re-kindled relationship :yum:

Yeah if I sell the 998 will probably regret it, but do need better ergos in order to use the thing for greater distances (AND BETTER UK WEATHER)

  3. i'd say the 999 is easier to ride and if i commuted daily would be my choice.

But i'd really try to keep hold of the 998 too, they are only going up in price.

  5. well... As cream face :D said I have both shapes, granted in the smaller yet higher revving , more fun cubic capacity.... I find the 748 more comfortable but there is a few factors at play. Im only 5'6 so someone taller may find the 749/999 shape more user friendly and the 749 isn't set up for me suspension wise at all so its no a nice ride at the mo ( but fuckn fun!)
the 749 is a bit higher in the saddle but it seems a lil less reach to the bars. I get on with em both as well as can be expected considering neither are exactly courier bikes. The most comfy outa the two is my 900 ss :)

  6. Buck the trend, join the growing minority of 999 owners/admirers ...before the prices go up too much to be able to afford one!...seriously tho, they are a great piece of machinery and cool as a cool thing too , you wont regret it...:grinning:
