Any Dealings With Carbonworld ?

  1. Ordered a few carbon bits off these guys ( no one else makes these parts ) over 6 weeks ago. it did say 4 - 6 weeks delivery but after 6 weeks still saying pending with a further 5 days for delivery when they're ready so could easily be 8 - 10 weeks.

Had an email back from someone named Shy Shan Tee at 5 in the morning ! doesn't sound very German ? made in Taiwan maybe.....

  2. or china! :weary:

  3. I brought some of there stuff recently and the wait was as per yours (6-weeks) when it arrived the fit was ok, however I brought mat finish to match the Ducati OE stuff and tbh the finish on the carbonworld stuff is Shite the Matte lacquer has started to peel, it's fooking crap.

  4. Oh good !! I look forward to receiving my Matt finish carbon from China in 10 weeks :disappointed:

I bought some Carbonworld stuff a few years back and it was good quality, perhaps then made in Germany.....

  5. I remember buying stuff from them years ago for my 748. The laquer yellowed within a year, fitment was so so. You will be surprised how many companies buy from China (OYA Carbon) and sell in Europe.

  6. The game is moving on I am afraid (for OYA). There are at least 5 carbon manufacturers in China that I know of now. And OYA is the worst by some distance. But they have the widest range of stock (about 3000 moulds or more) so they are still present in loads of retailers' portfolios.

One of the 5 Chinese manufacturers is really catching up and making stuff that fits well, using 100% carbon at the same price the others make grp backed carbon. And in metal moulds when the others don't use metal. They are better by a country mile than their Chinese counterparts and in my opinion their progress has made buying the expensive Western EU branded stuff a waste of money now. But...their range is still a bit low, maybe 1000 moulds or so.

  7. The DP oe stuff is made in China .

  8. I do think some Chinese companies are catching up and realising there is a sustained market if the product is quality, which is good for competition. Does anyone remember a few years back when OYA made carbon airboxes for the 749/999 and they would warp under heat!

  9. I bought carbon swingarm covers, ignition cover, tank rear cover and tank key cover from Carbonworld.de about 18 months ago and there are absolutely no issues with them. The shipping was fas too, items were in stock. Mind you the separate adhesive I bought for the swingarm covers was dry when I received it and was unusable.
