  1. I'm a keen amatuer photographer.
Also a mediocre trail bike rider , here's a link to my other hobbies Facebook

  2. Hi
Link didn't work - maybe as I am not on Facebook :)

  3. I'm keen, but not patient enough to master all the gear. Recently bought a Lumix GX-7 (micro-four-thirds) which is my first ever interchangeable lens camera. Have to say the image quality is great, though it does seem daft that I now have three lenses and somehow can't help thinking I need another, when I used to be very happy with my single-lens compact...

  4. Funnily enough I was a very keen amateur in the days of film and have dabbled with digital in the past. Now returning to it, after a 10 year gap.

Just got myself a Fuji X T1 and 2 zoom lenses plus all the other shit you need but didn't think of, straps, bags, spare batteries, spare charger, memory cards, hand grip, eye cup................I could go on. Then there is the software, raw convertor & if you're big into manipulation you need Photoshop or an equivalent and they are not cheap either.

Got the Fuji as although not big on the megapixels, the lenses are great and the camera is small. I could have got a DSLR but they are such bricks now I know I'd just never be arsed using it as it's be a PIA to lug around.

Anyway I've had the camera about a week but the weather has been shite. Here is a test shot I've been playing about with in the RAW convertor program. Nothing special I'm still learning about the gazillion functions that the camera has. Then I'll need to figure out when to use them.

  6. My father liked photography and had all the kit at one time
The parents bought me a zenith for my 21st as I was interested too.

  13. I got back into it a few years ago, just not got the time now though. Still take the camera and a few lenses, tripod when I go to EU :)

  14. Yes you're quite right I think the whole thing actually need tilted, thanks for pointing it out. In the RAW convertor program there are facilities to tilt, shift and rotate on both axes.....................gimmie a chance fer fek sake.

Another this time you correct one side and the other tilts. I also have over done the sharpness, these are literally 5 minute edits.

The raw program is brilliant even editing some old really really low res jpegs too.

Hamilton mausoleum's cupola, again just a snatched shot when there. Need to go again interesting place (my avatar photo is from that visit too)

I'd really like to say its all skill but its not, digital is so so easy to manipulate, the last image was taken with a crappy little video cam that also took stills. It was a snatched shot from a professional shoot and we were just strolling past in Altea in Spain. The image is very dirty (not in that sense you lot) and needs cleaned up.

  15. I do think manipulating shots is cheating a little - I never do, but it is partly due to laziness to learn editing: just can't be arsed. But just as in the old days, you can catch good shots without having to photo-shop and I feel it is much more rewarding this way - I will post some of my favourite shots of Prague in a bit but be gentle with me :D

  17. Taken on a warm summer evening, everyone was taking the sunset over the Castle and Petrin Hill, I turned the other way and caught this shot of the Dancing Building...
