Any news why the Panigle isnt doing well in BSB.

  1. Looking at the results of BSB the Panigale best place was 12th. I was wondering if Ducati are not trying this year, just getting some experience for 2013. Although a brand new bike with loads more testings to be carried-out.

The worrying thing is, MCN tested the bike this week, and had issues with high speed stability and the difficultly in riding the bike fast ? Any comments ??

  2. I have no idea about high speed stability, although that's Ducatis strong point normally, but remember these bikes are brand new and are racing against competition who have been developing their bikes for years.

Also, remember that the motors are stock - the same as those in any Panigale in any Ducati showroom.

  3. Sounds similar to the GP11 motogp bike, which includes the alloy front GP11.1.

  4. I think it also has a shorter wheel base then any previous Ducati super bike hence possibly stability problems?

  5. You believe MCN? Thats the worrying thing! The1199 is in very early stages of development in BSB spec. Read Nogs blog on here, hes the team manager for the 1199's

  6. Never Buy the comic Mike.. they print yesterdays news off twitter

  7. Whoops! I Best not diss the mcn! I got a infraction on the old anal site for that lol

  8. It's shit?

    ;-) LOL

  9. Its was Neil Hodgson who commented on the stability problem he has tested the bike twice. I do believe him. He even said" when he first rode the bike he didnt like it."

  10. Also they can't run the Ducati electronics package, so they have to adapt it to the control management system which will take time, no tc, abs or any of the systems the bike was designed to run with.

  11. Is that the case with electronics? If so what you say confirms what I always believed as good as electronics are manufacturers now use them to cover up errors in design, laziness in design or ask the question what is cheaper? For me any vehicle should be designed to be as good as can be with no electronics and only then a package should be added to improve. It is just my head but any vehicle, except planes, designed to work as expected only if it has electronics is a no go.

  12. So if the subframes and stressed engine didn't win ducati a title in motogp will it win in wsb next year ?
Or is the trellis frame duke the better bike ? (lots of wsb titles and 1x motogp title)
I wonder what checa's thoughts will be when he test's a panigale wsb spec bike ?

  13. In all fairness! Troy B is employed as a PR man by ducati so his comments will be.....................

  14. It will work...in the end, just look at how long its taken the WSB BMW team to start to understand the thing, it's only now that they are starting to show any remote signs of being competitive after being there since 2009

  15. more than that, the MotoRapido team has had to build a custom loom and program the race ecu. The factory build the motors and help them with tech issues, but the MR team are doing a lot of the development themselves.

  16. ...but his lap times don't lie

    Smilies are back!

  17. Give it time

  18. It's doing rather well in World Superstocks - up there with the Beemers in its first few races.

  19. In the m c n report yesterday the bmw was over 2 seconds a lap quicker ????? might have something to do with it

  20. bear in mind that a road Panigale S puts out, what, 180 at the wheel? Less? A top class BSB motor can make over 240bhp at the wheel. That's a big difference that even Stoner would struggle to overcome.
