Any Recommendations For A Hotel With Secure Bike Parking In Tallinn

  1. Planning a trip for the summer and wanted to have a couple of nights in Tallinn if possible. Wondered if anybody had been and had any hotel recommendations for secure bike parking.

  2. Why not try booking.com and filter your search for parking? They don't have a "garage" option but you can look at the details quite easily. I just did a search and the first one I came to was the Radisson Park, which is on the edge of the Old Town, which probably makes it accessible and convenient for access.

I've never stayed there, so I'm not recommending. If you're interested in doing the tourist bits, consider a personal guided tour. I did this and it was good, but cheap, because it was midwinter. Much busier in the summer and you'd have to be crazy to bike it in the winter.

  3. I've been filtering through a lot of the hotels on tripadvisor and booking.com and, even if it says parking, a lot of them are just public parking nearby. Even the ones that say secure parking aren't on site in a lot of cases or are just some parking spaces in front of the hotel. With a car I wouldn't be too fussed but feel I should be a bit more secure with the bike.
Looking at late June/early July so should be fine weather wise.

  4. I agree. I have noticed before that booking.com is hopeless about parking. It does not seem to have occurred to them that for some customers really secure parking is critically important, a deal-breaker when choosing a hotel to book, so they just do not supply useful info about this.

I have also noticed that many IBIS hotels, whatever their other shortcomings, do have highly secure parking available.

  5. Ask the hotels directly via their web sites. 'Drive' past each hotel using StreetView and look for the parking.

  6. It normally says on-site or parking nearby in the details. Phone them up or go to their website, to be sure. Should be secure if there's a charge.

  7. Go to reception and ask for duty manager, bung him a few quid! Sorted

  8. I have an ex from Tallinn, she has a lovely Penthouse apartment overlooking the harbour with secure parking but lives in the UK mainly. At the moment she isn't talking to me but I could try sending her a message on Skype :D she might be able to help, certainly knows the city well. It's a lovely place Tallinn :upyeah:

  9. No worries Exige, wouldn't want you getting yourself in trouble.
I've found a place in the old town with underground parking so I'll probably just book that.
