Just wondered how the event was today.... we were supposed to be coming from NW - but unfortunately - even though it was dry and quite a nice morning, no one showed up for the meet apart from me - and I didn't really fancy doing the trip on my lonesome - so went for a spin on the 848 instead - which was lovely at that time of the morning as everywhere was so quiet! Be great to see some pics of the day - hope you all had a good time who went - just sorry we couldn't be there!
Went with my better half - Been raining here solid all week so took the car... stopped raining when we got there, then light rain later? Bloody cold tho. Will download some photos and get them on here.
Very cold and lowest turnout I've seen in four years. Photos to follow later. Disappointing, Others thoughts?
Been miserable here all week TBH? Showers & greyness, bizarre as in March we had 21deg & all had our shorts on??! First time so couldnt compare to other years but I cant stand bustle so was glad it wasnt hectic, lol Yer tis:
Very much a smaller turn out. But still some nice machines. Still in Bristol as Geoff (has a monster 696+) and I are stopping for a night out. Have to say I was quite impressed by the sound of the Benellis. Good day out as usual. Good to catch up with you Steve and the rest of the S Wales posse. Wwill be planning to come next year too.
Don't think weather helped at all. Significant omissions were not a single desmosedici. Real lack of exotica (very few 'r grade machinery) as for the four wheeled stuff that was usual tweed coated Ferrari gentry ;-). Two streets which usually full bikes were empty (wheelie binn'd to the max!) Not a single hypermotard ;-) Matt i defo on for next year being an overnighter. Enjoy yourselves tonight.
Impressive turnout by the Sulo owners club though.... 5 Sulo Titanium 120s in a row and I believe a Sita 500 in Estoril Blue....and a Sita 600 in Anniversary Rosso Red!!!!
Shite weather - shite turnout?? Was well setup to take my SS, didnt fancy a day getting soaked & filthy riding there, leaving the bike in the p!ssing rain all day then getting covered in sh!t again on the way home... Had it been set to be a sunny weekend the bikes would have outnumbered the cars, easily! Bummed at the amount of sh!tty showers we are having at the mo in this "drought".
We were going to join the ride in from Gordano as per the previous 3 years, but woke up to the drought hammering against the window then had to hose the drought off the dog after her walk across the drought soaked fields andthrough the drought created quagmire in the lanes. 'Fraid a second cup of tea and a good read of the papers won the day.
Weather could've been better, but it was still an enjoyable day out - would've preferred not to have to use the over-suit, but c'est la vie. A 300+ mile round trip, so need to take the positives out of it... Unable to compare it to previous years, but it's the folk & machines on the day that made it, not the ones that didn't... Met a few familiar faces 'n a few new ones and there some nice bikes & cars on show. Thanks to Goody76 for posting details of the evemt & ride-in.
Thanks Sean again for all the work you and the members of the DOC put in to make this happen. Shame about the weather, but hey it wasn't that bad! Hope the soup kept you warm for the ride home Al.
Sure the turnout wasn't quite as big as previous years due to the weather, but it was still a good day. I'd still highly recommend it as a day out for those that have never been. It's the first time in the last five years that I've been that I can remember it no being bright and sunny! It's a lovely relaxed atmosphere with owners only too willing to talk about their pride and joy. Here's hoping for better weather next year
