I have been toying with the idea of getting a cat eliminator for my Monster S4R. I'm not really looking for power gains just cosmetic (that cat is an ugly looking thing) improvements but more importantly I would like to have the auditory soundtrack that all Ducati's should have. If I do ditch the cat I would also fit a freer flowing air filter. What concerns me is that this may leave my engine running a bit on the lean side with possible damage occurring in the combustion chamber. I don't want to fit a Power Commander because I cant see where I could place it. I have heard that it is possible to have the engine management ECU re-flashed and I was wondering if someone had knowledge of such things and could possibly give me some advice on the matter. Thanks and best wishes. Alistair.
Hi, reprogramming the ECU is always the best solution anyway. There's a fair few places that do it, I use CJS Racing in Bristol, even though I'm in Birmingham. If you state roughly where you're from I'm sure you'll be pointed to your closest option.
Thank you. I'm in Coventry so a ride to Bristol shouldn't pose a problem. I'm not in hurry but thanks for the info
In Coventry there's JHP who could probably do all you ask, and I won't say anything bad about them but they're my closest dealer and I still go to CJS Bristol. Say no more.
