As the title says, has anybody used a Daytona Smartphone Controller?

The 40hr battery life could be a problem. Also, there's plenty of buttons on the left grip already.
Could be good if it was sorted properly though.

  2. If im riding my bike the last thing I want to do is to be distracted by farting around with my mobile phone thanks.

  3. I take it you've never used one then.

It just seems like an easier way to use the phone as a sat nav.

  4. I did take a look at these in the 'flesh' at a recent classic car show. The distributor does all sorts of gauges and speedos.
It's quite cool, but, and it is quite a big but i think, is that you have to have this ferkin annoying voice that describes each function as you do them.
I decided it would drive me up the wall, and from what i was told there is no option to turn it off.
I was hoping it would just emulate my finger using the little joystick pot, but alas not.
Shame really, I'll just make do with the conductive coating on the end of my gloves.

If they changed the firmware so you didnt have all the additional audio feedback, I would have bought one by now.

    HTH

    Deaks

  5. I didn't know that Deaks, thanks. Also there could be an issue with the batteries. They are non rechargeable and only last a few hours. Presumably its a few hours of functioning with it not just having it on standby...otherwise that would be dead within a day, useless.

I've got a black conductive button that I put on the end of my left index finger glove. Not bad but not ideal...until I broke my left index finger! Ha.

Now you understand why I posted the question.

    Cheers
    Sam
