I’ve been fortunate enough to win this V4S on RevComps. Arrives tomorrow and I cannot wait! I’d like to get in touch with the previous owner and I’m going to take a punt and say he’s probably on here judging by the bike. Anyone familiar with this bike? That’s my old bike! Did the Dakar rally on it last year and she took on board a fair bit of sand. Big ends were rattling like f*** so I put some sawdust in the oil filler and flogged it to the dealer. Bottom line I feel guilty so will take it off your hands for say £250 ;-)
Quite a prize there, congratulations. A mate of mine won a BMW R9t in a similar competition early last year. Jammy sod won a tricked out 1200 Multistrada a couple of months ago from the same outfit. The only marginal justice in this world is that he wasn't tall enough to ride it so had to sell.
WOuld you consider buying a bike like that ? If no sell it and put the money into something more sensible like investments.
That teach him to be so god damned lucky. Met a lad through work that won a BMW S1000M sold it as he hadn’t passed his test, then went on to win GSXR1000.
That’s probably sensible advice, but wouldn’t it be boring if I did that…! If I do decide to sell it the money will go into upgrading my 8 year old KTM 1190 Adventure. Considering a KTM 1290 or a Desert X which would both be great for touring. In the meantime it’s like somebody giving me a Ferrari/Aston Martin free of charge. Would I buy one? Probably not. Would I covet and drive it? Absolutely! Taking it out on Sunday for the first time (Gingerly) so it will either frighten the living shit out of me and it will be up for sale on my return, or I’ll be head over heels and smitten.
Going to run out Rykas at Box Hill on Sunday. It’s a decent spin from me from East Sussex and I’ll get to gawp at some of the other bike porn on show.
