Anything Going On Near Guildford Next Week?

  1. I'm working in Guildford next week and thinking of taking the bike. Is there anything within striking distance going on in the evenings?

  5. How would you like to meet up one day at the Onslow Arms (at: The Street, West Clandon, Guildford GU4 7TF) for a bite to eat and a ride around the Surrey Hills and up to Newlands Corner?

  7. Can I be cheeky and tag along for an evening meet (at least for the dinner bit, as you guys will leave me in the dust if there's any serious riding involved)? I work in Guildford and commute on my 696.

  10. Since you're talking about next week, how about Wednesday 23 April. By what times would you be able to get to West Clandon, Dave and MrsC?

  11. You should nip down the A3 to Petersfield and catch the A272 to Winchester - one of the better biking roads in the area. There is a caf halfway (Loomies) which is popular with the biking fraternity, but I haven't seen it open in the evenings so you'd have to check opening times. There are a few pubs en-route too.
    When you get to the end of the 272 on the outskirts of Winchester you can either turn around and do it again or jump on the A31 back to Guildford.

  13. Google Maps says it is 12 mins from where I will be working so I could be there for 17:30 or 18:00 I reckon

  16. OK this looks viable. I will be at the Onslow Arms, West Clandon from 17.30 to 18.00 on Wednesday 23 April. Join me, if you want, for a ride-out and a bite.

  17. OK - will see you 17.30-18.00ish at the Onslow Arms on Wednesday 23rd. I can't work out how on this new fangled version of the forum to send a PM, otherwise I'd suggest exchanging mobile numbers in case someone is delayed or can't make it.

  19. Onslow arms is a really nice pub with good food.
    Dave, did you manage to find a hotel (assume you did as it's quite late in the week)?
    I also live in central Guildford but don't think I'd be back in time to try and crash the ride...
