1200 Anything to worry about boys?

  1. Thick oil just above the gear linkage on the side of the engine. There is 1 screw/bolt that seems particularly oiled up. Cheers guys. IMG_0895.jpg
     
  2. I'd work on the principle if oil is coming out from somewhere it isn't designed to, then something's wrong and worth worrying about until it's investigated and sorted. That even applies to my 1968 race bike.
     
  3. I would take it to my dealer for investigation.
     
  4. Not just oil fling from the chain is it?
     
  5. That looks to me like there is a plug missing
     
  6. I agree with Majvs, looks like oil fling off the chain to me....
     
  7. Whats with the brass bit showing at the top, looks like a thread for a bolt?
     
  8. Must be chain lube. Take the plastic front sprocket cover off and you will see the mess behind.

  10. I agree about chain lube . I run a white wax chain lube and can see in on the bolt in exactly the same place .
