One of my other bikes currently being ridden by my wife aprilia tuono v4 fitted with ohlins forks ttx rear shock oz mag wheels and Austin racing pipes. My Honda cl 175 1700 miles from new 1970 ..
Nice bumblebee! I have the 2009 Blackdream Factory Tuono which really should have been called the Factory Hooligan!
I had a 2011 Tuono V4 aprc and it was an epic bike. The only thing that annoyed me was the range as ridden hard i could get the fuel warning light on in a little over 80miles Also the stock suspension was a little harsh although you've obviously sorted that nicely with the ohlins. Im actually taking one of the new 2014 ABS V4's out this weekend as I do miss the bike, new one has reworked suspension, new APRC package, bigger brakes and a smidgen more fuel capacity so ill see how much i can get from a tank this time. If its circa 100+ miles then I may be tempted back..... epic sounding.... god i miss that
Yes Damo abt 80mls on fuel but big grin factor got some Brembo front brakes from a panigale forit and rsc master cyclinder just not. Got round to fitting them yet as you epic motor just a shame it's let down by aprilia back up
Would definitely consider a v4 tuono as my streetfighter replacement next, but are they troublesome? The younger bro has a v4 RSVR and it sounds epic!
Don't think they are anymore troublesome than any other Italian bikes but aprilia in uk just wank slow as Heck to get anything done had a coolant manifold leak on my bike think they doing recall on them now indicator stalks snap any time had 2 on my bike and they drink fuel like a v 12 jag but I wouldn't sell mine period love it it,s quick and very easy to ride wife only passes her test at 50yrs young and finds it very forgiving compared with her 1100evo monster trouble is can't get the aprilia off the wife now she won't let me near it ....
+1 on most of that. I had a Tuono Factory and it was one of the best bikes I've owned. The build quality was right up there. The dealers are toss though, be prepared for a wait for anything.
This is mine not a tuono but still great fun and when it comes to work on an aprilia there is only one place to go aprilia performance in tamworth and for info rsvr.net.
Hi hemi has spoken to griff a few time when I was fitting the ohlins to my v4 tuono ..Like the milli r had 3 of them great bike and very underrated ...
V4's an awesome bit of kit.great on the road, sounds mental, and still give the full on sports bikes a run for their money on track. Unless there's a long straight, then you have to hang on for grim death!
Aprilia are a bit slow with parts I admit but again the only slight niggles with the first batch of Tuono V4's are all ironed out with the new abs, plus all the dealers are up to speed so things have sped up a bit. one things for sure, anybody who has a go on one can't help but praise it, the only problem is whether you can fit one in the stable, best Streetfighter / naked bike I've ridden period.
I had one the same as that. The engine blew up with juts 6k miles on it and it took Aprilia 4 months to get it fixed and even then i had to get the MD of Piaggio UK involved. Never again sadly as the bikes themselves are fantastic....when they are working.
Just added these to v4 tuono Brembo mono blocks of ducati &brembo rsc Mastercyclinder brakes now better than my 1198 sp
Got a factory rsv4. Great bike ( its like a spoilt child that gets everything but wants)....tuono will get on to my list eventually....
