Arai visor. Pattern or genuine?

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Ian, Mar 11, 2014.

  1. On eBay at present are genuine Arai dark visors, at around £70.
Also on eBay are non genuine pattern ones, at about a third of that.
Is this just a case of paying for the name or does the phrases 'get what you pay for' and 'buy cheap, buy twice' hold true here?
    Thanks!

  2. There has been several posts on this subject, the latest being a couple of days ago if I remember correctly.

And the consensus of opinion is "buy cheap, buy twice"

  3. Also - buy cheap, buy new side pods too

  4. Thankyou both. That's good enough for me!

  5. Just read the recent thread, I don't often venture into that part of the forum so I missed it!

    thanks !

  6. It's also your eyes, which of course you can't buy twice....

  7. Yeah I wouldn't buy aftermarket for visors, only genuine. Optically they are as Arai intended them then.

  8. Moved to clothing

  9. Don't buy copies, a friend did and it hardly sealed around the aperture which caused most of the rain and wind to be forced in!!! Waste of money.

  10. What? I used a pattern part dark visor for my old quantum f for years without any problems what so ever. Sealed perfectly. Don't know how strong it would be against a genuine one though. The only difference I could see was mine didn't have the tear off pins and the eye brow vents were slightly different.

  11. Try racevisors.co.uk
