998 Are These Baffles Removable...998s

  1. Been playing around with my 998 since i had a little slide and was looking at the exhaust wondering if these baffles can simply be un-popped, removed and then the end cap simply replaced?
They look rather restrictive! Id like to keep the oem look really...had a couple of sets of carbon termi's but want to try something else now or make these better atleast

  2. I'm not sure if its just an insert and there's the standard 50mm baffle tube behind it or if there's only a small tube etc etc so worried if I un pop her its will be a waste and then not go back as nice as it is now lol....
Don't really like the pops in the end as it is now.... :(

  3. There is an American company on eBay that sell an "upgrade" kit that allows the baffles to be removed and replaced with their own set, they also supply the wadding to wrap the pipes in.

    Link - Ducati 748 916 996 Exhaust Baffle Kit *Baffles* | eBay

£62 0dd pounds to buy, made by Vance and Hines.

    Here's what they state :-

Why spend $900.00 on slip-on's? Comparable sound and performance plus keep the Factory Look and have $800.00 for other modifications!

Installing this kit will give you about 4-6 hp and 5 lbs of torque.
    Pre-Cut for a perfect fit.

6 lbs. Weight Reduction from stock!!!

Included with our kits is Vance and Hines™ packing material. There is no other substitute for

repacking your Ducati baffles except for Vance and Hines.

What is a Race Baffle Kit?

A Race Baffle replaces your OEM Baffle. What this does is increase exhaust airflow, which helps performance and improves sound quality. The sound and performance gains are very similar to expensive slip-on's. Still have questions, send us an email or give us a call.

Ducati Released 2 versions of the muffler that has different end caps. Look at the picture below to measure to see which baffle plate you need. It will be either 2.80" (71.34mm) or 3.40" (86.86mm). Please email us with your order to let us know which plates to send.

  4. You can drill out the rivets but the baffle has to be cut thereafter. There is a guide somewhere that I have but it's fairly complicated and TBF it looks like the above is a far better option. I'll post it though when I find it!

  5. Thanks for the help....I'm quite good with a hacksaw lol. I'll drill the end out and see how it looks tomorrow...if there's a guide with out spending the £100 delivered the that's ideal but £100 and re packing them too isn't a bad deal either tbh
Now where's the drill....and the welder lol
May see if I can get the holes welded and polished then use some small pops around the edge or similar as they're not very pretty from the back

  6. I have a 54mm full system with Ti cans for sale if your interested?

  8. You ready - £1200 (very hard to come by and from what I can tell nearly triple that new)

  9. I've just spent quite a bit getting her back together, it would be
The perfect addition but more than I'd be able to justify at the moment
Would be interested in those seat fairings air tubes/box and possibly the subframe though lol
    Maybe even the yokes!

  10. Can't find that guide sorry, must be on my old laptop. Google it though and you should be able to find it!

    Re, the full system;
I would be interested in this at 1k if you can hang on to it for a while, I would have to arrange for it to be collected. Do you have the ecu/chip for it?
