Insured with Bennetts last time. Just had my renewal reminder. Basically it says, we will automatically renew the insurance policy for you using the same debit card details so you don't have to do anything as long as the details are still correct plus you have an extra years no claims now. Very kind of them and they have only increased the policy by 50%. Bloody annoyed me. I have to change every year without fail as they all play a similar game. Why can't they be reasonable and reward loyalty. Bloody highway robbery.
Churchill sent me my car insurance renewal last week, increasing the premium from £220 last year to £260 this year with "automatic renewal". I phoned them up to cancel, and the operator offered me a renewal at £220 - I accepted, as I'd been on "Compare" and couldn't get it under £228.
Had exact same situation last year with the car but stupidly ended up paying more when I expected to get a better deal. This year my renewal was surprisingly lower than last year ...
