Hospital apologises after moving RAF man because of uniform - BBC News I am almost glad I am an old bugger as I do not think I want to be in the world my grandchildren will be living in.
Appeasement. A constant desire to avoid "unpleasantness". It happens at the grass roots of society as well as at the very top.
We don't put up with it, we create it. No one was offended. No one even suggested they were offended, it was just someone with too much time and too little common sense jumping the gun on an issue that didn't exist.....
And another example of the modern pussified Britain: Speaker banned from Warwick University over fears of offending Islam - Coventry Telegraph Why do you hate your country so much?
The hospital staff should definitely be told off for bone-headed stupidity. According to the Telegraph report on this incident: "“He said 'why should I move', and they said because your uniform might upset people, we have all kinds of different cultures coming in and you might upset them.”" Surely the staff could, for one minute, have considered the implications, if they had a patient arrive, of a "different culture", wearing a "uniform", and they had then decided to ask that person to hide around a corner to avoid "upsetting the other patients"?
Good point. They also could have stopped and thought, "This uniformed individual is serving our country and is helping to keep us safe" ... and treated the individual accordingly - i.e. showed him some consideration.
