Anyone know what difference the position of the little aerofoil on top is meant to make? I'm buggered if I can tell any difference no matter what position I put it in.
Not if you position the aerofoil correctly... Pulling your leg, Dave. It's supposed to reduce drag, turbulence & buffeting so improving stability of the helmet at high speed...... Personally, I don't bother raising it.
Mine snapped off so I super glued it back on I don't have a choice any more , I too think its a load of bollocks
Taken from the Arai website.......The result is the stunning new RX-7 GP with an adjustable Air Wing that significantly reduces buffeting and drag when the riders emerge from a full tuck when braking from high speeds, enhancing concentration. At the same time the Air Wing increases the top speed thanks to the improved aerodynamic properties of the new RX-7 GP.
I had the same problem with my RX7-GP at high speed, hitting the beak. Replaced the cheek pads, helped a bit. I guess to eliminate the problem totally , its over to the cosmetic surgeon !!!
I adjust mine in front of one of my mates when we stop for a break. With comments like "The air pressure is a bit low today, I need one more click of wing" It drives him up the wall as he thinks I'm serious. Im reality, I couldn't even tell if I had my helmet on back to front, never mind where the wing is.
