Hi all, i am thinking of buying a pair of arrow cans, whats the difference between the 'cat' and 'no cat' and do i need anything else ( to stop any dash lights showing etc ), your comments would be appreciated, thanks.
i have race arrow cans on my 1994 m900 and i wake the whole island every morning on my way to work......not much help cheers gary
on the 796 stanard pipes the catalytic converters are contained inside the cans most aftermarket exhuasts will not have a cat afaik changing your exhaust system (and usually change your airfilter too at this point) usually will need a fuelling change to make it run right there are aftermarket bolt on bits of kit out there that piggyback on your existing ecu to adjust fuelling, but theses are a bit crude and clumsy as they often have to work against/around the effects of the O2 (aka lambda) sensors which are installed on new bikes from the factory to dynamically adjust fueling mixture so that the bikes complies with its emissions tests. as every bike is different, the best option is to get your ECU custom remapped (they usually turn the 02 sensors off too) to your bike on on a dyno by someone like CJS racing in Bristol or BSD in peterbourogh (although do check they can work with your model of bike first) its not cheap but well worth it imho nb when your buy the ducati performance termignoni exhaust, the kit comes with an performance airfilter and a new ECU (engine management chip) that has generic fuelling maps suit the exhaust. this map will be better than the stadard but as every engine/exhaust combination is diffifent , this is a bit of a 1 size fits none scenario. remap is loads better
I've got a set of Arrow dark line end cans on my 1100 monster, sounds great and didn't need to change anything else.
Funkatronic, i only want the cans not the full system, but thanks for the info Alf - i was looking at the dark line, it would look good with the white and red colour sceme, would it be possible to post pictures please, i also really like the ally ones with the carbon strap / end caps. Thanks All
Alf Wow!! they look good, as good as the full carbon, i now have a real dilema, which ones to go for, i'm trying to visualise the dark line against my white panels, and i think they would look awesome, i have seen the full ally ones on an 848 they looked good too, why oh why did i ask for pictures??, lol.
Got them at last, fit good, sound awesome, but need to re-size number plate and i have the yellow /blue logo to go on, not keen on the new style silver / black.
