1200 DVT Arrow Slip On

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Perbunan, Feb 22, 2024.

  1. Hey, has anybody tried an Arrow slip on exhaust, I've seen some for around £300 + tax and wondered how they sounded and if any remapping would be required - I'm intending on leaving the cat in place. Not a fan of the looks of the oem.

  2. Remap won't make any difference with the CAT in place. Plenty of people have fitted an Arrow slip on with no gains.
    Get a full system.

  3. The only difference the Arrow will make, is how it looks. Everything else will be the same.

  4. I had a full Arrow system on my 1200 DVT and it was awesome. Impressed me and my friends with a really great sound. No idea if it was more powerful but that doesn't really matter as there's plenty in a DVT anyway. And no remap required.

  5. Cheers, I was doing it purely for the looks and a Termi is out of my reach whilst I save up for a V4.

  6. Arrow great can. Nice looks. Sounds far better. And not 4k for a system ;)

No need to map ime. Keep baffle in as it’s too loud for long rides otherwise

  7. I have an Arrow slip on, on my 1200. Its loud enough without being a nuisance. Fits easy, no mapping needed. Looks OK.

  8. First thing I did on my 1260s was put the arrow and decat pipe on. It's very well made, much better value than the termi and doesn't (officially) need remapping. Lots of pops on decel and bangs on aggressive upshifts which I guess could be tuned out, but I like them (and the flames). I think the pops were there before they were just buried in the cat

It's transformed the bike (huge weight saving) but is quite obnoxious, passes MOT with advisory. With the baffle out it's beyond ridiculous. I ride with it in. Beware the circlip holding the baffle in is good for one use only. After getting hot the spring steel goes brittle and it'll suddenly shatter if you try to remove and replace it.

  9. Fitted an Arrow slip-on to my 950s and I absolutely love it , not too loud and pops and bangs just the right amount on the over run.
Like you didn't want to spend a fortune and found Arrow products very well priced , quality is excellent and haven't seen another Multistrada with this model end can on.
    Can highly recommend.

  10. Like the double barrels... and on a super clean bike. In terms of volume, the amount soaked up in the cat is huge, if you're not putting a link pipe in then it'll stay reasonable.

So you are going 2 -> 1 -> 2 I wonder if each can is tuned differently to add some interest to the exhaust note?

  11. Have often thought about de-cat and a link pipe but consider it will just draw unwanted attention even though it would sound awesome I popped the baffle out of each which were identical so unsure if tuned different, it is an interesting thought though
Just wish I could find a nice exhaust hanger and carry out a rear footpeg delete on both sides, I'm aware Evotech do one for the V4 but not the 950

  12. No regrets on my decat. The cat is massive, ugly and heavy.

IIt is loud and head-turning but I've never had any trouble and ridden this across Europe. Without ear plugs and baffles out its totally deafening but I think baffles are probably important for backpressure particularly with the cat gone and ear plugs are kind of a must anyway for wind noise.
