So got a pass out to go this year and cant wait - never done a bike trip abroad so this should be really fun. Managed to book a hotel around 20 miles away from the circuit for a reasonable price and going up on Friday and back home on Sunday Looking at entrance tickets where is a good place to sit or do I go fort general admission? Also any tips on routes etc from Calais - it looks very boring all motorway and I am sure the Panigale is gonna give me a$$ ache Cheers Kwack
Matches for your eye lids as you said the route is dull as ditch water. Why not get to Amsterdam on Friday have a few beers or whatever you fancy then carry on Saturday to Assen. You have to plan on being sat in nose to tail traffic when you leave on Sunday as well.
Went in 2000 Hull to Rotterdam (12 hr crossing), 6hr's on the piss , 6hr's sleeping in cabin. Rotterdam to Amsterdam (2 day stay). Up to Assen via the Enclosure Dam (20 miles long),this is the place to see Max mph on speedo !!! Afternoon & night in Assen (A Must !!! Town closed off , no traffic , live bands , bars everywhere , serious party) . Off to see the racing on the Saturday , up to Groningen for the night . Back to Amsterdam for one more afternoon / night . Back to Rotterdam . 12 hr crossing back to Hull ( with the final 6 hr piss up of the tour , followed by 6 hr sleep in cabin).......... Hell of a trip , been meaning to do it again ....................
Don't forget Assen is a Saturday race! Its a a dull trip to be honest but a great GP, I've staying in Groningen every time I've been about 20 mins away great town. Grandstand tickets are available from numerous vendors, I've used GP Ticketshop a few times, first turn into the complex and at the last chicane offer great viewing and excitement usually.
