Well the Wantz and me are heading here in a couple of weeks. We don't like to plan too much in advance :Nailbiting: and are happy to wing it and book accommodation in the afternoon when we have some idea of where we will end up that evening. Probably heading down from Domfront towards Poitiers spend another night then head towards Le Puy Mary direction. Anywhere not to be missed ? Anywhere to be avoided ? :Blackeye: Hoping to go toll free on the way down or may do one day of motorways to get there a day earlier ,,,, Any experience welcome - is the northern side any good or are the best roads south, prefer fast sweepers to tight mountain roads ! there is a good tourism page and the 'motorcycle circuit' looks fun but not going to be able to do all of that this time
I hope it's not anywhere near the Tour de France route, or you will not get any accommodation on short notice.
Personally I'd hit the motorways to start with, get the boring bits out of the way early doors. There are interesting bits to northern France, but they're few and far between. Some epic roads in that area; south of Le Puy Mary is Rodez, and just south of Rodez is the D911, take either direction and hang on tight, not very picturesque but this is a fast road for big sportsbikes, and utterly exciting
Where are you staying in Domfront Char? Discovered the most amazing place just outside of the town a few years ago run by a British couple, stayed there 3 times now Of course I'm at work & cannot remember the name of the place :-(
