Has anyone fitted any additional lights to their Multi and if so which type did they consider the best/most appropriate, how easy were they to fit and where did they fit best? Oh and how much were they? A lot of questions I realise, but due to the likelihood of my riding much more at night, very early mornings and the like, I need some additional lighting options I think. Any thoughts out there?? :frown:
Tony, these are what I fitted, they are Ducati fitment, I looked into other lights i.e VisionX but by the time you buy the lights, switch etc it was easier to buy the Kit from Snell's, they are the same lights as the GT I wired them up myself, and it took a couple of hours, power is taken from the Sat-nav feed, and if your running sta-nav that piggybacks into the new loom, , if I did it again it would take half the time, I don't know what your hoping for ie more long range or foreground, I like them as they also give more presence to others
I have to ask why. Having only used once so far in the dark they seem more than adequate as it is. If off roading or globe trotting I can see why they are needed but otherwise not tbh
I've got the Hawk lights from Motohaus (which were fitted by first owner), straight onto the rad. This cracked the rad so bought some engine bars and mounted them off that. They're o.k. but if I'd bought some i'd go for led lights, as i'm on my 2nd set of Bosch bulbs in 3 months!
Bradders boys and their toys, you want an exhaust I wanted lights, was good to follow you for a bit yesterday, some of those lanes were quite fun, ( at a legal speed of course )
I confess it made it easier to see as they were brighter but also found a little distracting. We must get out for a ride sometime.
Check out my earlier posts, i had HID headlights, and 2 sets of led spots, one set came on with main, the other on a seperate switch so could be on anytime, the lights were awesome, as it happens I still have the little brackets which bolt onto the side of the nose if you want to buy them? I am keeping the Hids and spots though for me next bike. http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f6/spots-my-multi-320/#post1795
FYI also : Theres a post by a weird (but nice I am sure) norweigan guy, and he has fitted two tiny led lights on the handguards which looks good and is less work/hassle than 2 new big lights.... LED driving lights, audi style? - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum bugs
Thanks for your responses people, apologies for my slow reply, I've been doing far too many other distracting things, which have taken my eyes off the more important 'stuff', like this question I really appreciate your thoughts, but I've decided to opt for Osram Extreme H11 bulbs as a direct replacement instead, to see how much better they may be. I'll let you know as and when I have fitted them, but in the meantime thanks once again for taking the time to reply.
