Just booked Fe Crono day at Donington on Monday 12th. Let's see if I can get the 924 going any better. (Without the clutch woes or Red Flags)
It wasn't until I had the 853 built from the 748RS engine I found on eBay that my track bike made sense. I was lucky that most of the ancillaries worked first time. When I went to a ball and ramp slipper I couldn't get on with it and went back to the basic R version which I can make work for me. It may take you a little while but persevere, it's worth it - believe me it's big grin worth it. Andy
I've ran the slipper in the 749. For a couple of years without any problems. However after I built it into the 924 with new plates I had way too much slip on down shifting. Which I sorted with fitting an extra steel plate.
I recall that the 999RS slipper came with 3 sets of different depth caps for the springs to give a little extra adjustability on the amount of compression you could use on the plates. That reminds me I'm pretty sure I've got at least one set somewhere in the spares box. Andy
