Just for a look around I've been in the Ducati Community forum for the last three-odd years, but it has become too toxic for me. And although vehemently denied, my psychoanalyst was able to go in and find ALL of my posts, put them in a document, and send hem to my solicitor. I don't think that there was anything bad, but I didn't appreciate it that a non-member (unless I prompted him to join!) could do that and when I asked, all I got was a load of piss-taking that I didn't appreciate! I know for a fact, that some community members come back for a scan and then report back. I hope that this is not found, but it wouldn't surprise me! There are some very twisted and horrible people about!
Glad to see you back Perry - you sold me a Brembo master cylinder at a very generous price a few years ago. I know you had that serious accident some time ago and i hope you are still recovering/have recovered now.
Hi Perry, welcome back! You will have to excuse me as its been a longtime, but weren't you having some issues with your heating and about to buy a bike when you vanished?
Yeah.... There were two Perry ST's, one almost refurbed/ redone and one needing a little more help as I recall, but I couldn't say for certain... Though I do believe they were both the faster version (red)!
This is my third try at answering The Accident In late March 2019, I was riding my Ducati Monster S4r home from work. I was passing Leyhill Open Prison, when a female prison officer pulled out on me. The Police Accident Investigation Officer though that it could be a fatality, so he closed the road for about nine hours to do a full investigation. I never realised why this road had a 40 mph speed limit in the middle of nowhere. The Police wanted it to be 30 due to this spot’s appalling accident record, but the council would not agree, so they compromised at forty. I have now worsened the accident record but it is still 40 mph! I cannot remember a thing, but I know that the investigating officer could not find my bike. It was in a field somewhere so goodness knows what I did! I never saw the Monster again and it was written off. My insurance company sent me a cheque for the write-off value and that money kept me going for a while. I got into some financial trouble because I had no income and lots of finance debts. I was taken to Southmead Hospital where I got a replacement left hip and a lot of metal work in my left leg. I set off metal detectors now! I also dislocated both shoulders and my left elbow! I got a big bang on my the head a huge brain bleed! There is a bit of brain damage going on, as well. Southmead Hospital is where I woke up about two or three months later. Apparently, there was a time of twenty-four hour care with a nurse always by my bed. As soon as Southmead determined that I would not need any more operations they wanted me out as Southnead isI the major trauma hospital for the South-West and need beds available in the high dependency ward, where I was. I was transferred by ambulance to Gloucester Royal, and then on to The Vale in Dursley. I was not allowed home, but had to go to a place in Gloucester where you have to show that you can look after yourself – do your own shopping, cooking and cleaning. I do not think that I got home until October, so around six months after the crash. Although the driver always admitted fault, it was time for her insurance company to start being awkward and following their textbook of denials. It started off by saying that I couldn’t even prove that it was me riding the bike, to I must have been speeding. Fortunately, I got a call from my local surgery to say they had a paper copy of all my medical notes to collect. I was just going to scan them and email them to my solicitor, but there was just too much. I posted them at my local sub-post office in the end. Their limit is 2kg, and m package was 1.98Kg of just paper notes! There was even the ambulance notes saying where I was collected from and at what time! Also, after the woman was prosecuted (she got six points) the Police could release their notes. Not only did it name me as the victim, it stated that I wasn’t speeding! We got to the three year time limit to start legal action and the company (Hastings, I think it was) finally, finally admitted fault! My solicitor has started the legal action, anyway! This is long enough and there is more. Much more! I will do Part Two at a later date
An ST2 on my bike stand, where I was going to do the valve shims. It is still there! After my accident, I can only now stand up long enough to start again on it. The ST3 just needs the plastics put back on to. At the moment it is SORNED, but I hope to change things soon. The ST3 needs the belts and valve clearances checked, but I will get it on the road first. 0 Now, because of my messed up left leg, I can only handle light bikes. I been through two or three KTMs. My legal on the road stead is a KTM Duke 390, That one will be kept as will be the ST3. The ST2 is just a fun project really. I am just interested in doing the valve shims to see how difficult it really is.
I remember you! I think that you organised a get-together at a place in Gloucester - curry house, pizza, or Italian! My memory is not that good! And didn't you bring a daughter? But you don't live in Gloucester, I think? Hereford? Ross-on-Wye? Somewhere vaguely in that direction!
Wow, what a horrid experience Pez. Glad youre on the mend. Ducati Community forum toxic? what a surprise. Not. If any are having a scan, up yours! Esp the poison dwarf.
That is correct I believe Bradders and cookster organised a curry night in Gloucester Great night it was too and a long time ago now I think you asked me why I liked bins so much
Just so you are aware the forum is accessible to read without being a member apart from speakers corner to which you have to be a member and subscribed I did a quick google of Perry Ducati and here are a couple of hits It wouldn't take a professional long to make connections and read posts so be aware of what you post if you don't want it in the public domain don't post it
