V4 Back In The Fold

  1. Hi guys,

Picked up a V4S last week after a few years away from the Ducati brand (previously owned a 1299S and an ex Trioptions 899) and BMW/R1 ownership.

I'd ridden a V4S in 2019 before I bought my S1000RR so had fair idea what it would be like anyway. First ride out today didn't disappoint and it felt very similar to my R1 I thought. Just a pity we got caught in the rain on the way home from Inverary.

I've already ordered some carbon fairing covers and will as a few other bit of carbon to it but if anyone could tell me if it's possible to change the standard rear sets to race shift then that would be great?

  3. Nice, what R1 did you have? I have a 2CR, pic for attention, I love it and just don’t know if I could feel as comfortable on a Panigale

  4. If it's the same rearsets as the sfv4, very easy to change to raceshift. I think there's another lug on the gear lever, just change the shift rod to that

I’ve got another 2 R1 2CRs for track. The V4 is just for the road. Got to admit that they’re very similar in feel.

  6. Dont think I realised how loud it was going to be prior to collecting it. I do have baffles for it but where’s the fun in that

  8. Just to echo the comments on race shift. I’ve Giles on mine and the shift is just moving a couple of bolts, I’m also certain the ducati performance rear sets do the same thing.
It’s a small job so you could do it track side and revert to ride home.

  9. Just take care when removing the shift rod bolt, made of cheese I think

  11. Mine might be for sale after November, depends how I feel after spain. It's a lovely bike on track, it really is, considering it's my first 'big' bike having spent so long on 899/V2/F3 800/ Daytona 675's and 2 stroke's
