After 13 years, 3 months & a couple of weeks I should finally have a Ducati in my garage again next week. I've been looking at 848 Evo's finished in the stealth black for a while now, missed out on the pre-reg ones at Ducati Aylesbury, but now put a deposit on a nearly new one & it should arrive just before I go on holiday next week. I last bought one in late 95, a beautiful 94M 916 Strada which was murdered in Feb 2000 by someone who shouldn't have been behind the wheel of a car. The national health rebuilt most of me but M***JOF was destroyed, just a pile of shattered carbon fibre, twisted Termignoni exhaust, broken light weight Marchesini wheels, torn technosel seat, you get the picture & despite all being declared to the insurance company a pitiful payout making a replacement to the same standard impossible. & so I drifted back to japanese fours followed by a Triumph. There will be Termignoni but I'm not planning on any cf this time round, lets just wait & see how my older less flexible limbs survive first. Excited? Me??
I promise you will grow to hate ebay and your watch list. no CF............... go on.....say it..... say it.... (...carbon.......fibre....) there...I whispered it for you now goto sleep counting pound signs...lol
Don't! It's not the only toy in the cupboard these days (although the others have more wheels). Besides the to-do list is already forming without the cf & it's not even here yet!
Welcome - you sound like you've reduced the average age of forum members already (74). We need new blood (but not spilled)
 That's OK, as long as everybody can spell, at least no text speak, I'll fit in fine... How much more drivel until I can be a senior member?
It was, that picture was taken in the nineties, I have a copy of the newspaper photograph reporting it's death in Feb 2000
Good timing! It arrived at lunchtime & I'd told the insurance people 3. Delivered from Newcastle upon Tyne. Bought unseen from a Honda dealer 250 miles away & all seems fine.
