Hello again all, not a newbie as such but been on a gixxer all year, trading it tomorrow for a nearly new Monster stripe 821 with Termis from Ducati Manchester. It's being dropped and swapped in the morning. I fancied a naked again and really didn't fancy any of the jap stuff available. I read a lot of good stuff about the monster so decided to arrange a test ride. Even in busy Manchester on a rainy Wednesday I was blown away by the looks, sound and ride. So comfy after my gixxer and felt good to be high up and more aware of what was going around me. The biggest surprise was the clutch and gearbox, after my 848 it felt silky and sharp with a smooth easy clutch. Neutral wasn't always easy to find but I'll get the knack I'm sure! Brakes are strong and progressive and the steering very light and agile after my race bikes. Conditions weren't ideal but I tried all power modes, I can't see me using anything other sport very often but it was good to start out in the low power mode. Need to read up on the traction and abs settings? Looking forward to my Christmas present!
