Back Protector Advice

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by James85, Mar 8, 2016.

  1. looking for recommendations on back protectors. Mostly road use, to fit in a one piece suit so slimmer profile the better.

  2. What is your one piece ? Dainese have a pocket sown into the leathers for a back protector but not so sure about Alpinestars or the other major makes. Andy

  3. Ordered a Dainese trickster one piece. Not sure if it has a pocket

  4. I use, in all forms of the term, a Forcefield Ultralite Level 1 insert back protector in my leathers.
It's amazingly light, shapes to the body once warm and gives great protection. Super comfy too.
    As mentioned I've used it.!
A 90/100mph crash left me hospitalised for 8 days.
    But no back injuries whatsoever.

I also have a Forcefield full length Level 2 back protector similar to the Forcefield Blade .

I can't praise them highly enough and won't wear any other type.

  5. dainese wave slim and level 2 about £120 but they only do so much all depends on the crash,

  6. Been looking at the forcefield L2k.
Seems slim enough. Hopefully there will be a few different brands to try on this weekend at the bike show

  7. Don't get your hopes up. Historically few traders selling anything decent turn up.

  8. If you want the best protection, it's got to be the Forcefield Pro sub 4. End of ........

  9. Forcefield here, I have a back protector for the road and also a full top body suit which I use offroad, and just the back and chest part on track.

  10. +1 for the chest protector, I hit a small bird before the braking point at the end of the start/finish straight at Cartagena which left me feeling very second hand for an hour or so. Andy

  11. I have the Forcefield Pro L2K Evo. In fact I have two. One which I use for snowboarding :)

  12. L2K Evo here too, arrived last week. Tried today, forgot I was wearing it.

  13. I've got a Forcefield. Agree you don't know it's there after a bit.
Wish I was wearing it in the car two weeks ago when some twat ran into the back of me.
Result doctors and physio tomorrow and I can't sleep at 2.51 am

  14. I'm going to be wearing an airbag tabard.
Low speed crash left 8 high ribs fractured (not your typical hair line jobs) in the shape of my back protector. Nearly died...not good.

  15. I thought the airbag system on The DVT Multi was expensive...... Until I saw you and realised that it wasn't! Not compared to 8 ribs.

    Keep getting better.

  16. Which model of back protector was it? They really shouldn't concentrate loads quite the opposite. The L2K is just layers of high density foam.

  17. Knox Meta Sys!
Doesn't get any safer. Bulky but very comfy.
