  2. Red Max can turn a monster into a sport classic. Don't think Baines have facilities to do another run.

  3. If they had enough orders they would, according to the last conversation I had with Geoff about the subject.

  4. That's mine in the video, along with me starting it! The frames were made in Suffolk, and most of the rest is either off the shelf or easy to make.

  5. It appears Mr Siegl has this covered, in the States at least.

  6. Good point, but how much!! I recall that the Imola kit was about £5K, I'm sure Nick can confirm.

  7. What would people be prepared to pay for such a kit? What donor would you use, ST2 , 900ssie, fuglystrada?

  8. The kit was £5k +vat. Donor bikes were generally carby 900SS/Monsters. You could run injection but you'd need to fabricate a suitable fuel cell.

  9. If I remember correctly Walt's Leggero costs about 25000 USD depending on the options chosen. And then you have to ship it to the UK, which will be another few quid ;) If I had the money I would buy one in a heartbeat... or maybe two - naked and faired version ;)

  10. Or you could have a Multi for everyday use, and a very trick 900SS built in the UK!

  11. Was out with a mate this morning, picking up a rare Ducati 916 which I accidentallymade him buy.

At the back of the owner’s shed, at a top secret location in rural Christchurch NZ, sitting on the back wall, sitting above 5 Russian light attack helicopters was, among other things, a Baines Imola.

I asked him what the price was... about twice that of a carby 900SS.

I'm ½ tempted. What's one worth in the UK?

  12. If that is the same as twice the UK price of a 900SS Hamish, it's a bargain! They very rarely come up for sale, as only 38 were built. In the UK you have to pay £10k plus for one.

  13. I think Andy Sidlow has the jig for the Baines frames, he was based in Crowland near Peterbourgh.

  14. You'd have to ask about design rights to the frame before going any further.

  15. Think Andy took the lot jig/drawings/right to produce. Top bloke who does quality work :upyeah:

  16. I feel a plot hatching:upyeah:

  17. out of interest, why would someone want five Russian light attack helicopters ? If they're as reliable as Aeroflot or Tupolev aircraft, you'd want fabulous life insurance just to stand next to one....
