I finally have to admit defeat and let her go. I've got it up on greed bay, but in truth I'd rather it went to someone on here so i'll accept a sensible offer. I want to show her at a gathering on the 30th so she will get a full machine cut and polish and wax as well. Ducati 900ss Supersport 1994 Carbed Model Baines Racing Tuned MOT and TAX | eBay
Yea it does. Other half has been out of work now for two years, and we're down to the last of our savings. I've hung on as long as I could but I've had to admit defeat. At least the new owner gets a service, and full years tax and MOT which means they'll want for nothing really. On the 30th I'm taking her out for one last ride to a small fun show at work, so she'll get machine polished and detailed and then hopefully the day after there will be enough bids on her to make my eyes water! In truth as I said, if someone on here wanted her that would make me happier as at least I would know she's going to a good home.
Sev, it's a shame as I had the money when you first had this up but then u took it off. It's a really nice bike wish I had cash now..
I know, DQ, but with tax and MOT due to expire, the realisation the steering head bearing needed doing and what with the hope that things were turning around my conscience wouldn't let me sell it knowing there was still work to be done, I felt like I was short changing the new owner. if it doesn't sell today then I'll relist it again but maybe not immediately. In truth for the right owner I'd be prepared to wait. I gave her a machine polish on friday ready for yesterday and a good health waxing. I can't believe that I'd 'ridden through' the steering head bearing for so long before it got so bad- probably because I thought it was my riding lack of talent!
Guys, I saw this bike on Saturday, it really is very nice and worth every penny. The attention to detail is superb, I'm glad my Pantah was parked a little distance away! Nice to see you again Sev ;-)
Thanks Nick, yes relisting it tomorrow. I'll put it up for the same, but as I said, I'll be happy with a near reasonable offer from a forum member.
I know, I was only asking as the ebay listing had ended - which upon reading the post a few above mine, I would have known
Is it a Cat D ? I bought a 999 which had a minor spill, the insurance company didn't repair. A guy bought it and threw just about every DP part at it, must have cost £10k to build, the only original part was the frame. I couldn't sell it, ended up going abroad. Buyers run a mile when they hear crashed, write off, repair, cat d, which is a shame when it's been built to the standard of yours.
good question, whichever one it was which was beyond economic repair but other wise sound - so all it needed was an MOT to prove roadworthiness.
