1200 Balancing Tyres

  1. Hi
I just had some new tyres put on the multi at a local bike garage.
I came back after two hours and he had not started so said I would wait and watch which was fine.
How then mentioned that he could not balance the back wheel as his machine didn't do them. He said not to worry, fixed axel etc but he did the front.
    Does this sound right?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. He said he did 20 to 30 tyres a day in the summer

  2. no it is not right. Perhaps he didnt want to say he didnt have a spacer for the rear wheel on the balancer. It should be balanced as the front.

  3. I suspect Cranker is right. He just didn't have the correct spacer or was being a lazy arse.

  4. Theres a lot of places can't/don't do the single sided wheels. Most use a dynamic balancer and the adapters to fit the wheels cost quite a bit so they don't bother. As mentioned, they still need balancing.

  5. Any good car tyre place can balance the back wheel as it fits on a car tyre machine
