Started my 848 this morning to take it to the garage due the engine running rough. As I was pulling off the driveway there was a loud bang and a puff of smoke which came from the front! Think the old girl's had a funny turn :frown:
It's been picked up and is in the workshops now. Early diagnosis is positive, most likely a plug rather than catastrophic engine failure......Phew! Will have to wait until next week to know for sure, will update then.
Cool, hope it doesnt work out to be to expensive. Just in case it ever happens to my 8 fordy 8, it'll be good to know.
She's back home now safe and sound where she belongs. It was a faulty spark plug that caused the problem. Whilst ticking over it was only running on one plug therefore it was running rough. When I pulled off the driveway the faulty plug fired when it went over 3000rpm, it then ignited the fuel which was in the header pipe causing the BANG! Thankfully no damage and little cost, result
Glad you got sorted and it wasnt anyting too serious Major.....happy ending that. Im surprised none of the brightsparks here havent plugged a few jokes yet
