Banjo Bolts

  1. i have just ordered the two oil union bolts or banjo bolts for the external oil ways on a 98 900ss originally with two copper washers each ,have been told the washers are now aluminium ,is this correct? and will it make a difference?

  2. I can't say whether right or wrong........

........but out of preference I would stick to copper washers.

  3. Can't imagine it would matter. I used copper when fitting mine, mainly because I'd got a load of brake line copper washers and they are the same size but my Guzzi had all aluminium washers on the oil feeds and they work too.

Technically aluminium maybe the smart choice because it's lighter... ;)

  4. I'd go with copper

  5. I think the 'squish' on aluminium is too easy..........

  6. ..............and then they melt...........

  8. Rub the alloy with ordinary bathroom soap. Heat up and when the soap turns black, you're at annealing temperature.
