Barrels - Re-boring???

  1. Howdo!!

    Anyone recommend a company that can Re-bore a set of barrels? Minimum thickness of barrels? Wondering how far they could be bored too? Also need a set of pistons machining.

    Any info welcome, thanks in advance.

  2. Do a search for Nickasil plating.....most of the specialists will arange boring....but, if you do have them Nickasil plated and you have chrome rings, you will have a very long running in period, otherwise you will have some pistons welded in the barrels.

    In the long run, it would probably be worth it if you can keep the revs and heat down for say, 5000 miles.

  6. Nope not brought Grandads 851 (Wouldn't mind it in me garage though!) If the price was right??? Commmmme On Down!!!!!

    Seen a set of ST3 barrels............mmmmmmmh bore them out, machine some 996 pistons and make the Superlight 1078cc!!!
