Anyone wearing these or any other make that you folks would kindly recommend. Thanks Barmby One Piece Base Layer - One Piece - One piece - Base Layers Thermals & Windproof Clothing
I have two sets of ETZ onesies. I never ride without them whether its winter or summer. I'd recommend them all day long.
That's a good price BD- I just paid £25 for some trousers having lost my last set, only to find them the day after the new ones arrived tucked in an old crash helmet! Still they came in very handy whilst on a very cold ride as I wore both pairs. I think they are great, don't take up much room but provide much needed warmth in the cold weather and couldn't get my one piece leathers off without wearing them underneath in the summer
Yep. I have one set that have a "vertical" zip and the newer set have a "diagonal" zip, if you know what I mean. They are very good in winter as they keep you warm, and in summer they wick away the perspiration and also make it easier to get on and take off your leathers.
I had a Receka base layer in 1 piece and couldnt fault it, easier to get hot leathers off and you dont feel sweaty and no bunch up like an old t-shirt. I have now replaced this with an EDZ one piece and after the first ride yeaterday, I also cant fault it, very comfy and has an elasticated waist. Not a lycra type material like the Receka, it has a little more texture to it but still very comfy and it has thumb/ankle elasticated straps so doesnt ride up when you put the leathers on.
I've used the EDZ two piece ones and find them really restrictive. I've been using an Under Armour ColdGear top for a while now over winter and love it. The one with the high neck so it's really good for the bike. Warm, close fitting and fleecy inside so it's super comfy. I liked it so much I've just ordered a set of the leggings and another top. £50 all in from Amazon. The leggings allow me to move much more freely than the EDZ ones do, would highly recommend the Under Armour stuff.
Cheers everyone for your input, I may order a couple of the suggested options and see how I get on with them and report back
Once you ride with decent underwear, you won't go back. My personal faves after trying many are the Alpinestars range. Pricey, but superbly comfortable, wicking, never hot or cold, never bunch up, super comfy. Wouldn't ride without them. I use the two piece versions as they are more practical, and if it's chilly you can add a warmer layer on top of similar type. They do uber thin (excellent for summer or track) and medium weight (UK riding, or over the top of uber thin if it's chilly). They also do a windrooof version with breathable back panels, which are nice in the autumn...... Never ride in a T-shirt - cold sweaty, nasty and not comfy under leathers.
Just a wee update. I tried out the Under Armour stuff the other night and it was superb. Comfy, warm and fits great. It is 100 times better than the EDZ stuff and I forgot I even had it on. I could move completely freely on the bike which was always the problem I had with base layers before. Great kit.
UA stuff is great for when its chilly. Ive been using them for years. Ive also got a sets of Skins which are great and a one peice Proskins suit which is good on very warm days as its not designed for the winter
I have only just started with base layers, and believe it or not LIDL top and bottom set £20 that was a bargin and very comfortable. I must admit LIDL/ALDI do surprise me sometimes with what they sell, always worth a wander round, as you never know what you will see.
I saw these at ducati shop £70 pricey but typical of the ducati sore, I take that back, alpin are £120....wow
