Has anyone here got any preferences to battery chargers? Just got a new battery and want to keep this one in tip top condition. The current one I'm using is an old datatool one with the clear flat 2 pin connector.
Mate, done to death on here, just search. I use the Ducati maintainer for both my Multistrada and my girlfriend's Diavel. No issues over the last two years, bikes have always had plenty of juice to spin the engines over. Andy
Oximiser for me - had one (same one) on my last three bikes over the past few years and it hasn't let me down yet. You can get them for less than £20 these days so well worth the money imho.
Just don't let it go flat....and look at all the other threads...I've done this to death*. *=And by using @Android853sp phrase I don't mean you shouldn't ask the question, just that it has been heavily discussed previously. Within the threads are some well researched answers and an awful lot of waffle. As soon as I can get on a PC instead of a mobile device I'll update this post with links.
Search battery , tender, charger etc. Spend around £50 on an optimiser 4 or higher. You get what you pay for on these, pay only £20 will get you about £5 worth of electronics Riding it is the best solution.
Never worry about asking questions, i was told "the only stupid question, is the one you don't ask". I'm new on this forum & as with other biking sites the regulars get miffed at seeing the same questions!
Sorry, I've never charged the battery on my Mutley and it has always started OK, now four years. I don't understand why folk keep going on about battery chargers.
My five year old battery just died, so while I'm fitting a new one I thought I'd go the whole hog and get a new charger to replace the 10+ year old one Took the bike out for a run today.. Christ that things fast!
Oxford Maximiser 900. Get the optional lead to plug into the "Hella" socket of your choice, left or right hand side. Snip wires to socket, make safe, solder new leads from socket to battery with an inline fuse. Easy charging. Just plug your charger into the socket and switch on. No leads and sockets hanging off the bike when on the move. Neat job done good! Jon.
I have used an optimate for the last 3 yrs it works brilliantly, I have the lead that fits on the battery so when I am finished I just plug the bike in, works a treat.
