Be Wiser Insurance - Beware!

Discussion in 'Insurance - Sponsored by Ducati Insurance' started by Spikelikemike, Mar 6, 2017.

  1. Took out a policy a few weeks ago after lengthy conversation with the representative, agreed everything down to the last detail and payment was taken......

2 weeks later docs come through with incorrect info on security "stated and discussed my "locked compound" and docs came through with garage and not being insured if not in a garage

Make 3 emails before getting docs sent back - exactly the same - no change to security and stating not insured if not in a garage

So the 30minute call started to be told they cannot insure me if not garaged!

Why do they take time to discuss/agree and TAKE MONEY? That I think is the answer.

I asked for a copy of our call which they said would be 50quid - LOL

Awaiting a call from a manager and will be making a formal complaint to teh ombudsman along with a claim against them - bloody COWBOYS

    So beware or "BE WISER!"

  3. It's not just them. I had been with Bennetts for 4 years with all mods declared. On the 5th year they sent through my renewal quote and said they would start cover as per unless I phoned to cancel. As the price had gone up I do what I did every year and phoned to haggle.

Conversation went "sorry we cannot insure you with those mods, new policy that no more than 3 things". When I pointed out they had already sent me a renewal and policy docs they then told me it would have been void as they won't cover me.

So the crux of the conversation was, had I not phoned and just allowed the policy to continue my insurance would have been void if I had need it. The rep even went and checked with the underwriter and came back and essentially said, we don't want your business anymore if the bike has mods, goodbye.

Hence I wouldn't touch Bennetts with a barge pole. Have my Duke and Aprilia through Ducati insurance and all mods covered. They laughed when I told them about Bennetts. Said he would be rich if he had a pound for every customer Bennetts had shafted.

  4. Just had an email from BE WISER - a cheaper quote than originally quoted by some £200 !

With no details anout security etc - unbelievablr!

  5. So are they now good :Nailbiting:

  6. wont even entertain them mate, if they are this piss poor I would never want to enter into a claim situation -a vote of "no confidence" !

Will no doubt be another long "held" call tomorrow to sort out and cancell
Be wiser will be getting a stern letter with request for full refund and "costs", and ask for a copy of my calls along with a full detailed copy being sent to the insurance ombudsman for comment.

Just spoken with Matt @ Bemoto I suspect he will be getting my business this afternoon.

  7. Ask for the transcript, they love that.

  10. They are ex Bennetts staff who moved on to start their own company. Unfortunately I couldn't get an acceptable quote from then for one bike but their additional cost for one of my other bikes added to make it a two bike policy was very competitive.

  11. Yep - von grumble did a video interview with them. Ill definately be going to talk to them in a few months...im with mce who have been ok. I wrote my mates bike off a few years back and they were pretty quick at sorting it all out...however this (last year) they tried to double my insurance due to some asshole hitting my wifes car (black and white case against the other party) i complained and got quite a bit knocked off so if bemoto turns out not to be as good ill probably stay where i am as ironically the written off claim should drop off this year...

  12. Arn't all insurance companies charlatan's, we are all forced to take out policy's to ride or drive yet they will do anything to not honour the policy should it be needed, easy money for them.

Its just like another tax, loads in for zero return
