  5. looks pretty cool but would that affect the crank balance at all
or not enough metal removed to affect it

  6. Ha... Like it..

No that's how she came out of her Duc shell once I finally managed to crack her open.... X

  7. Yes mate it would..

I've pre arranged for the crank to be balanced and knife edged previous to starting this work..
I know it sounds daft but, I wanted to do as much of the work as I could, so I spoke to the company who's doing the crank work who said they do all the polished work first before the knife work, so they suggested I did the polishing knowing how OCD I am.. From there it will be matched to the NCR hi comp pistons and con rods which are on there way.. Or should be..

Another post on here tonight with my painted NCR alt and clutch covers if your interested .. X NOODS

  12. The polishing and or the knife edging allows the crank to spin through the oil in the sump better.. Basically slip streaming.. Which allows the engine to spin up faster.. With everything balanced as well it should produce a little more efficiency.. Also less weight, which is possible as the cons and pistons will be a lot lighter, this inturn allows more to be removed off the crank when knife edged..

  13. Here is a crank next to a stock one from a build on Ducati.ms.............
