1200 DVT Belly Pan To Be Black

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Cliffords, Jan 14, 2018.

  1. Hi
Did some searches on here about making the belly pan parts black. I have two questions is it mat or gloss black ? Also powder coating seems to be the route most have chosen, is it heat resistant, parts of the pan are very close to the exhaust ?
    Many thanks

  2. I had mine powder coated satin black several years ago and it still looks good. Preparation is everything, I had mine chemical stripped, powder blasted and anodised before coating. Cost a bit more than my local powder coater who just coats stuff but IMO well worth the effort. Andy

  3. Had mine done gloss black last August, suits the white bike very well.

  4. Had my belly pan, pillion peg mounts and Termi exhaust cover plate powder coated satin black last year. The exhaust plate was already satin black but I had this done with the other bits so it all matches up nicely. No issues with heat and looks great imo.

  5. Powder coat satin black. It looks excellent and no staining or flaking.

  6. I got mine anodised black, not quite as 'thick' but IMHO a nicer finish

  7. I dropped it off today at a local chap to me , he said light blast , degrease, etch and after looking at the finishes I chose satin black. Back later in the week, I will post a pic when its back on.

  8. Got to be shiney for me, high gloss. Maybe carbon dip? No idea how it wears.

  11. Did you have to fully disassemble the rear footpegs or just remove the rubber bits before putting them into the shop ?

  12. I removed the rubbers and disassembled the foot rest, it’s only 1pin and a circlip:)

  16. I've just had the ones for my 1260 done, I'll take a photo but these were the first ones I got done. The finish held up very well P1000610.JPG
