Made a phone call today to enquire about my belts changed due to 2 year coming up and price it up and realised I might aswell do my valve clearance as mileage is getting close(7500)... Without even thinking or hesitating he said £600 all in. I'm aware he gets these phone calls every day but just a bit of chat, question about the bike if I'm enjoying it blah blah, abit of leg work before handing over the money. But if that's the going rate then I'm happy but wondering if there's a Ducati branch doing a offer or someone private who could do with the money as being self employed myself I'd rather support them. Anyone had there's done recently? Price? Thanks. Stu
Depends on other stuff like fuel and air filters, clutch/brake fluid etc but that's probably about right. Find out what their doing for that. You can bring the price down by doing the easy stuff yourself.
Appreciate the reply, I could do the whole service myself but not really got time as when I have then I want to be on it instead of working on it, and by end of summer they will need to have been done as I'll probably put a few thousand on it if weather is alright. I'll give them a ring and check everything that's included. Top man
If you can drag it out till November ish some places do discount labour. There's a strong argument for belts lasting 3 years anyhow. Also, see if they are happy to fit @Exige belts as they will save a good few £££ over OEM.
Ducati john leeds, not far from you and has a price menu on his website, all round good fella too would always be my first choice on my 848
Ducati John, did my 1098 a few weeks back. Around the £780 mark for the full bang service including a K&N air filter. All fluids except the shocks, clutch strip and inspect, valve shims replaced etc etc. Nice guy, friendly and up for a chat! Recommended.
I got a big van with ramp, straps, blankets etc if ye stuck Very good price ha ha john will do whatever is required so if it's just shims and belts and you do the inspection and oil etc to keep price down you can, can be a bit of a wait at peak periods at johns so best think in front too. I have a van, straps, blankets, ramp etc if you are stuck touchwood be driving again very very soon
