Doing the belts on my SPS at the moment and noticed that the plastic covers are "well manky". Tried to clean them up to remove the ingrained oil stains but it appears to have soaked into the plastic. Any ideas on how to clean them properly or possibly anybody got some lovely carbon ones they want to sell cheap? R
i have found anti static foam cleanser te work really well on the belt covers, dont know if it would get ingrained oil out though
Can't see them once the fairing's on so don't worry about it. That said I've got carbon covers on mine 'coz I'm a tart...
I fully understand your point Mr R. But it's my track only bike and I figured I'd already be crashing if stuff's getting thrown at the belts so am not too worried. Running no air filters, having a nice big air scoop and 60mm throttle bodies with bell mouths that are 75mm at the opening is something that bothers me enough to fix before riding this year though. Maybe.
Smooth. It's an old trick people used to use to bring back dried out car bumpers. Supposed to work quite well, may stink a bit after
Haha no, I've not done it myself but I've seen a fair few before and after pics. The oil in the pnut butter works a treat apparently.
