Bemoto Track Day Insurance, Lessons From A Claim Attempt.

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Paul55, Jul 2, 2019.

  1. I went into the gravel at Aragon in May wrecking my leathers. I thought I was covered for damage or replacement by my BeMoto track day policy.

    I would have been if:
    1. I could produce the original clothing purchase receipt.
    2. I could produce an incident report from the track day organisers.
    3. Did I notify the organisers and could they describe the circumstances leading to the accident?
    4. I could produce evidence of travel like booking confirmation or boarding passes.
    5. I could produce a repairers estimate.
    6. I could provide photographs of the damaged leathers.
    I managed 4 & 6.

I would also add that the people who sell you the policies are very helpful and knowledgable. The people who handle claims are a different firm, who in my opinion have one simple objective, do everything they possibly can to frustrate you and make you give up.

For the record, I won another claim after four months of arguing for curtailed travel due to family death. I have still not been paid though.

  2. That's disappointing but thanks for posting
Makes me wonder how difficult it would be making a claim when sustaining personal injury
I have insurance for such circumstances also through Bemoto, I hope I never need it

  3. Sadly a sign of the times.
If this paperwork is to be needed at point of claim, it should be explicitly clear at point of sale.

  4. Are you saying BeMoto aren’t the “gamechangers in their field” per the 44teeth claims?

  5. Requirement 1 is clearly in the small print. 2-6 you learn the hard way...or take note of the above. I will still use BeMoto as there are not a lot of other options.
