Best battery for the Multi

  1. :frown: Any views on which battery provides the best set-up from the power and charge retention points of view?
Undoubtedly this has been an earlier thread and if so, could someone push me in the right direction, if not then any thoughts?

  2. The standard Yuasa YT12B-BS never ceases to amaze me that it manages to turn this twin lump. A fairly common upgrade on the Aprilia's was to swap out the 12 for a 14. The dimensions other then height are the same and you get more cranking amps. However, I've not seen anyone post with issues that the the 12 is not up to the task. So sticking with the standard would be my choice.
Don't be tempted with the lithium models as they are only really suitable for warmer climates.

  3. Use a trickle charger and if the bike is stood still in the garage for a while turn the charger off for a week, start the bike then plug back in for a couple of weeks. They are great but your battery will get addicted

  4. Thanks for your replies guys, I was only prompted because of a similar thread posted on the RSVR.net website, about Aprilias, which I also adore. Yes I know I shouldn't mention that other bike name here, BUT!!
My current battery is fine and I always use an Optimate Charger system, so don't have a problem presently, I simply wondered if there was a benefit to upgrading.:upyeah:

  6. I did a fair amount of research at the time of replacement and got a Dynavolt MGS12B4 at £42 delivered. I can't say I notice a difference from standard though it should have a little bit more grunt than the OEM battery.
