I'm going to ride up to Marlow from Hammersmith early Saturday morning and I thought i'd make a fun trip of it. What's the best route to have some fun on? It doesn't have to be direct, i could go via Surrey or wherever because I have plenty of time.
A40 then off at denham past pine wood studios, down to farnem then behind burnem, Bourne Marlow! That's a nice ride. Ah and pop in at booker to have a drink and watch the gliders and other aircraft! Home can be accross the mway to high Wycombe, hell fire caves to princess risborough wendover amersham the chalfonts then denham back onto the a40. would happily meet but someone decided to plan a bicycle event in London on Saturday so have to play happy daddy.
Odd that you mention gliders - i'm a volunteer gliding instructor there and that's why i'm going up! I always drive but since I now have a licence and a Mutley... Leaving at about 07:00 if that makes any diff and you want to join? I'm *slow* though - beginner.
I spend most of my time between offices in Hammersmith and Oxford so any excuse to go to the other one on the bike along those roads The a40 is great, especially from High Wycombe towards Oxford. Also a4130 and the a4074 past Benson is a good road. I'm yet to venture north of Oxford that much but I hear it's also very good. I'm knocking around Hammersmith/Kew on a Panigale 1199s so will keep an eye out for a Multi.
I used to fly from Lasham but grew too far sideways. Perhaps 7 am will be do able. I'm slow too as the mutley sadly is no more so am on an ancient monster. We could meet at the target round about a40. Will have to check with swmbo first.
Right - i've google mapped out the routes you suggested and am going to give them both a crack. Really looking forward to getting a few miles done I'm waiting to hear back from a mate with a Harley who might come along - depends on his wife too.
Ok swmbo grudgingly gave me the go ahead. So let me know the place and time. Personally the mCdonalds at the target roundabout on the a40 is good but it's your ride so I'll be happy to meet u at a location of your choice.

Morning Fritz! My had a great time - best ride I've done yet. I loved the route home too. Thanks very much. Hope you don't get soaked today - it's dry here but my phone is telling me it should be tipping down. Let's get you up flying before end September.
