Best Place To Get Touch-up Paint Stick From???

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Riviera81, Nov 25, 2020.

  1. Hi all!

Hope we're all well and enjoying lock down V2.0 (of sorts!) - those of us in England!!??

    General query this!

There are a couple of minor chips and the like that I want to touch-in on my 1199 and I wondered if there is a general consensus on the best supplier to use?

Thanks in advance for any pointers!

  2. most motor factors can make you up a rattle can of your paint code. spray it into the lid it comes with, then dab it in with a lil artist paint brush

  3. Cheers for advice!

My bike went to my local Ducati dealer recently and I was surprised when they told me that touch-up paint/sticks aren't available from Ducati.

Can anyone help me identify my bikes colour code? It is written nowhere in any of the books (owners manual/service book), or on any of its PDI paperwork. The bike is a 2012 1199 Panigale in Ducati red. Is the code on a label, or a plate anywhere on the bike, or under a panel?

    Thanks!

  4. if it's red you might strugle with an exact match, you are probably aware of red paint and the affects of sunlight.

  5. Yup. But bike is low mileage and has been garaged all its life. It doesn't have to be an exact match, just needs to take the eye off of a couple of very small blemishes.

  6. coolio, give it a go, it works a treat. :upyeah:

  7. I got a bottle of paint touch up a few years back. I will dig out the details next time I am in the garage.

  8. RS Bike paints sell touch up kits and are a good match.

  9. Many paint suppliers have colour scanners that can scan a sample of the paint you want to replicate in order to produce a very accurate match. You might ask your local suppliers if they provide this service
