Not wanting to tempt fate in any way, form or shape, I thought I'd ask opinions on this as I'm off to Das Reich next month on the Multistrudel and pondered getting one of these little kits should the worst happen. I've seen the cans of gunk which I used on a car once and worked ok, then there are Gryyp - Cargol repair kits where you screw a bit of plastic into the hole (I imagine this is VERY temporary) and then Airpro repair kits where you get rubber bits to force into the hole. I'm none the wiser and if I do get one I would like it to be the preverbial bollocks. Many thanks
Jamie, I've used the rubber plug type repair kit when I got a screw nail puncture in France last year. I got it from ebay similar to link below. I had taken a mini compressor so once plugged was able to inflate the tyre. The cans of gunk are fine for a temporary measure but they do ruin the tyre(and make a mess of the wheel). I was able to complete the trip and ran the repair til I needed a new tyre. Emergency Car Van Motorcycle Tubeless Tyre Puncture Repair Kit Tool 15 Strip | eBay
I'd use one of the kits with the rubber plugs. This Airpro kit is 1/3 off at the moment, if you use the stated code: http://www.motohaus.com/acatalog/Airpro-Premium-Tyre-Repair-Inflation-Kit.html
Surely your OE tool kit has a puncture repair kit in it. Mine certainly did of the plug and sparkletes gas cylinder type. Andy
Yeah rubber plug seems to be the best option methinks. The original puncture repair kit was not with the tool kit when I got the bike, didn't realise this until I got home but couldn't be bothered travelling back to Manchester to mention it!!! Cheers for the input
