Great read! There's an interesting comment about an update for the heat shield for the hot exhaust under the seat. Anyone know about this?

I "know" the guy who did this review from another forum. His forum name is Antihero. Comes across as a great guy and his blog of the journey is superb reading. He also did 1036 miles in 16hrs on the thing! Coast to Coast (and back?) with an Italian Supermodel - ADVrider Re the heat shield update, is seems that some of the guys in the US have received letters from their dealers confirming the updates shield. Expected fitting is end of March.
You're right, this is a fantastic read. However I'm on page 54 and still no proper review of the bike. It's a really inspiring tale and a good mix of riding stories, human stories, philosophy and amazing photography. Everything that I wanted Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance to be but which, to my eyes, got lost in psychobabble. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone who likes riding, whatever you've got between your legs.
There's plenty of Rideapart vids on youtube, by the way, with Jamie Robinson as the host for the most part. Pretty decent they are, too.
