  1. Best place for tyres?

    Hi,

I need to order new Pirelli Scorpion Trail tyres for my Multistrada and wanted to see if anyone can advise the best/cheapest place to look for tyres?

Normally I go through the dealer, but at nearly £300 (fitted) for the pair I wanted to see if I had other options

    Cheers

  2. About Us If you are in London you could try Essential Rubber, Blackwall Tunnel northern approach. Mick Berry is a great guy and very helpful.

  3. Had a quote from my dealer for new boots for the 1098 and just in passing went into BLD. They were £70 cheaper. They have been advertising on the local radio and it seems that they now own Altamura. Had some work done by Altamura and was very pleased. I will give them a go to save seventy quid.

    Regards Steve

  4. FWR, in SE11, I have not used these but a lot of biker mates rate them highly,
north London I use Burwin N1.
Although mates have brought tyres from FWR for about £10 cheaper, but its south and I'm north of the river and not worth the journey time wise.

  5. ooh essential rubber are close to my work now might have to check them out. didnt they use use to be south of the river ?

+1 for FWR who are generally one of the cheapest and will fit to loose wheels for free, ride in ride out is about 15-17 quid per wheel i seem to remember

burwins are more expensive for the rubber but will fit to the bike for free so it works out about the same as fwr if fitting to the bike

if your just buying loose tyres theres loads of online places that will do good prices

  6. FWR will also deliver - I had a set of conti Road Attacks delivered to my local tyre fitters. Great price from FWR and fitted while I was at work - best of both worlds! :upyeah:

    cheers,
    Dom

  7. I suspect your sealer will simply ride your bike to ye olde tyre shope, then add a hearty percentage.
Loads of mail order companies out there including ebay...

  8. Cheers Guys...

I will have a look at the sites and see what prices I can get.

My dealer says he is happy for me to have the tyres delivered to him and he will fit them if I wanted.

  9. No they used to be in Dalston. Their prices are on the basis that you ride in, they take wheels off, fit tyres, balance, refit to bike, you ride out.
