This rarity came from Glyn Robinson of Sports Motorcycles fame. Let's avoid fanciful tales of Hailwood having had this on one of his TT bikes, because those were NCR units and also because I've never been told Hailwood went anywhere near this one! This is most likely Spondon, or Harris flavour, dating from approx 1980 and used on other Sports’ racers. Needless to say, modern fuels will probably dissolve the fuel tank, but that does not rule out someone fuel proofing, or removing the underside of the tank to fit over some ethanol-proof fuel container... The poor thing carries the ugly grey scars of enthusiastic paint experiments and would benefit from a grown-up doing a respray in a pleasing livery so it can then be turned into an interesting light fitting, fixed to a wall in the mancave, living room, or over the matrimonial bed and admired for years to come. It could even be sliced lengthways to produce a second wall unit and thus halve the costs with a pal.. really the possibilities are endless, as are the opportunities to spend more money.... £200.00 Collected Liverpool, or + P&P
