A pal of mine bought and paid for the swingarm here. Scores of emails and innumerable phone calls have gone unanswered and in waiting for some response and believing that perhaps the seller would make good his end of the bargain, my chum waited too long and cannot now get refunded by Paypal, so has been robbed of £155.00. Judging from the negative feedback received by the seller recently - the seller does not appear to have sent 6 buyers their goods Approach his lovely Ducati stuff with caution
Ebay states an expected date of arrival of an item, If this occurs with me I email the person first and if no response within a couple of days then I open a case on eBay and will reclaim any lost payment via Paypal. Hanging on for something is not wise because of people like the lister mentioned above as you will lose out and eBay\Paypal won't care at all.
Here's his feedback, 4 negatives most recently no doubt lowering his rating, prior to that he had two negatives on the trot.
Just going thru similar issues myself, i bought and paid for a 'as new' 749/999 fuel tank recently with paypal,no item showed by the estimated arrival date and I emailed the seller with no response...twice..i have opened a case with ebay and will hopefully get a full refund (over £200),it clearly has not been posted even though the seller ticked the ''been posted'' button...there are some pretty unscrupulous @rseholes out there, dont give anyone the benefit of the doubt by waiting and giving them time etc...I suspect the seller didn't get quite as much as he had hoped for the tank,in which case he should have put a reserve on it!.
Been there myself, had a lister effectively say he wouldn't sell me (he obviously wanted more money) the item and said "hard cheese", I pointed out the eBay rules to him and also the fact that he was technically legally obliged to sell me the item etc. etc., I got back "nice sermon". He did the same to a couple of other people and then got banned from eBay. Although it's easy to open another account giving false information in this case it did the trick and I don't think he did ever bother to try and open another account. The answer is to give no one much leeway just in case they default, it's better safe than sorry. It's a sad attitude to take, I know, but eBay is so full of dishonest sellers that there really is no choice if you don't want to get fleeced.
just seen in my paypal account that theyve increased the time limit for claiming back etc. is it over this amount of time?,if it is your mate must be very patient and very trusting. "You have 180 days from the date of the transaction to open a dispute in the Resolution Centre."
His account may have been closed already in that case. Quite likely there will be a few claims for refunds on many if not all items.
